Job title: Senior Quantity Surveyor

Working hours: Monday - Friday, flexible start and finish times
Pay rate: Up to £600 per day

 

 

Randstad Sourceright, a leading provider of RPO & MSP Recruitment Services is currently seeking an Senior Quantity Surveyor on behalf of a leading infrastructure company.

 

 

 

Job purpose:

We are seeking a driven and experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the established team based on the outskirts of Birmingham on an initial 3-month contract basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing solid leadership and support, while lending their knowledge to ensure the timely and on-budget completion of projects.

 

 

Responsibilities:

• Initiating and leading tasks and processes, taking ownership and being accountable, where relevant, for the work and roles of others whilst exercising broad autonomy and judgement within broad parameters in their area of governance
• Liaising to a Project Manager or Commercial Manager for relevant commercial aspects of a section of a project
• Ensuring that BBV’s commercial position is protected using in depth understanding and experience of contractual, commercial, insurance and legal processes
• Providing effective client relationship management to encourage smooth commercial progression of the contract(s)
• Managing and providing professional development and support to other commercial team members Demonstrating and maintaining a high level of commercial and technical knowledge and working closely with the delivery team to develop techniques and solutions to meet business and customer needs
• Preparing subcontract invitations to tender and evaluate tender returns and make recommendations

 

 

Qualifications/Experience:

Degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or a related field.
Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry.
Strong knowledge of construction cost estimation, tendering processes, and contract administration.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Proficiency in relevant software applications (e.g., Oracle, MS Excel, AutoCAD, CostX).
Effective communication and negotiation skills.
Professional accreditation (e.g., RICS, AIQS)
