Pay rate: Up to £500 per day DOE

 

 

Randstad Sourceright, a leading provider of RPO & MSP Recruitment Services is currently seeking a Quantity Surveyor on behalf of a leading infrastructure company.

 

 

 

Job purpose:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to join the established team in Warwick on a 6-12 month contract basis. The successful candidate will carry out the commercial management, administration and provide support to the Service Areas ensuring that the financial targets of the project(s) are achieved.

 

 

 

Responsibilities:

• Prepare accurate cost estimates and budgets for construction projects.
• Assist in the tendering process by preparing bills of quantities and evaluating contractor tenders.
• Administer construction contracts and manage contractual claims and variations.
• Monitor project costs and implement cost control measures to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints.
• Conduct value engineering exercises to optimize project costs without compromising quality.
• Identify and assess risks associated with construction projects and develop risk mitigation strategies.
• Advise clients on procurement strategies and contract selection methods.
• Prepare final accounts and ensure timely project close-out.
• Ensuring the procurement of sub-contractors is in line with the Balfour Beatty Group procedures and that the packages cover the scope of the works.

 

Qualifications/Experience:

• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of construction cost estimation, tendering processes, and contract administration.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in relevant software applications (e.g., Oracle, MS Excel, AutoCAD, CostX).
• Effective communication and negotiation skills.
• Professional accreditation (e.g., RICS, AIQS) is desirable but not essential.
